snowdrops

fair maids of february

white violets of the spring

awaken now

sweet beauties of resilience

teach me of thy song

you

sing…

Seize the Day-Electus

discovered these delicate little beauties while touring one of the many covered bridges of Lancaster County in Pennsylvania. Naturally they stole the show. These resilient little babes are called snowdrops and are nature’s way of hinting that spring is on its way. In the language of flowers, these are a symbol of hope. They are one of the first of wild blooms as the transition from winter to spring descends and truly are resilient to the still harsh colder days and get their name from the ability to deflect snow. They are currently on the endangered plants list so please if you come upon them refrain from picking!
